The Lord Jesus has been burning a message into my heart. He has been urging me to prepare His church for His return. Just as a bride prepares herself for the great wedding day, we as the Church need to prepare ourselves and make ourselves ready (Luke 12:40).
Our culture has become accustomed to a message that makes us feel comfortable. Our culture looks to surround themselves with preachers that tell them what we want to hear; not what they need to hear (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
Friends, we need to return to the scriptures and stop preaching and/or listening to "feel good" messages. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said we need to exit from the doctrine of "cheap grace" and realize there is a cost to discipleship (Matthew 16:24). I believe a shallow gospel has been preached for far too long and it is time to return to the message Jesus preached.
